World Building

You’ve come a long way. You now have realistic characters to star in your novel but now it’s time to think about the world your characters live in. I have covered this subject before but this series wouldn’t be complete without this section so I had to include it again.

Again, it’s a matter of asking yourself lots of questions. Remember the “what if” and “why” questions. What if you change your everyday world to…

1) a fantasy world?
2) a future time?
3) another planet?

Why does your character act in a certain way? Why would they want to do the quest in the first place? Why have you picked the support characters to help your hero/heroine?

What if…? Why…? They are the most important questions there are so don’t be afraid to use them and ask yourself questions.
